Help Me Grow (HMG)
HCBDD Help Me Grow home visiting program focuses on a baby’s early experiences as they are the building blocks that shape how the brain is built and create the foundation for success in life.
The Help Me Grow program serves families who have children that are prenatal to age three.
It is a home visiting program that is voluntary and provides family support, education and advocacy for pregnant women and new parents.
Help Me Grow is offered in every county of the state and the HCBDD provides this service in five counties; Adams, Brown, Clinton, Highland and Pickaway. HMG is funded by the Ohio Department of Health.
Each year, HCBDD serves around 100-150 children in the program. HCBDD collaborates with the Butler County Educational Service Center to help promote the program in Adams, Brown, Clinton and Highland Counties and the Pike County Board of DD Central Intake for Pickaway County.
The home visiting team continues to partner with the Early Intervention (EI) teams in Highland and Clinton Counties to help promote social development through play groups. The HCBDD Help Me Grow home visiting team consists of eight home visitors, two supervisors and one program manager.
